Restaurants discounts from 30%-50%

The first time I saw their ad, I did not believe it.  So, I booked with them online (they don't take money or credit card or anything - just your name and contact number) and to my surprise, I got an sms confirming my booking and I got the discount on the bill!

Too good to be true? I agree, but it IS true.  The site address is http://www.roundmenu.com/ All you have to do is go to their website, choose either the area you want to dine in or the cuisine and press search!  You will get a list of participating restaurants that you will recognize many of (right now there are deals going on in Asha's, Yum, Frankie's, Abdelwahab Lebanese restaurant, Stefano's and many others).

Once you have made up your mind on which restaurant to choose (discount varies by place), you just need to cick on Book Now, fill in your information (name, phone number, date and time you want to visit and how many people do you plan to go with).  You then press Submit and wait for an sms or call :)

Just make sure you call the restaurant and tell them you are have booked through roundmenu.com and then confirm your discount and go ahead!

Hotel tips for those under a budget!

Dubai is one of the most extravagant cities in the world.  Translated into money language, that means it is also one of the most expensive places there is.  A couple of years ago, hotel prices started at a $600 per night and I am not talking about 5 stars hotels. Today, at least one good side of the economic situation is the massive drop in hotel prices.

If you are coming to Dubai and your aim is to do shopping, then I highly recommend "Corp Hotel Apartment" in the area of Barsha.  I recommend this hotel for several reasons. One is its proximity from the Emirates Mall (7-minute walk if you're not fast!).  Two, it is a very new hotel complex that comprises of very spacious 1 and 2 bedroom apartments that are beautifully furnished and maintained.  Three, most importantly for those on a tight budget is the price.  If you book through http://www.booking.com/ you get over 60% discount over their rack rate.  So, you end up paying $75 per night for a gorgeous one bedroom apartment that has a living room with a 42" LCD TV, a kitchenette and a guest bathroom plus an inside king or twin bedroom with its full bathroom and a balcony!

Really, outstanding value for money.  So, just for comparison sake, if you decide to stay in Kempinski hotel, which is located inside the Emirates Mall, you will surely have a great stay (well, a smaller room for sure) but you will end up paying anything starting $740 Below are some photos of Corp hotel apartments so you visually see what I am talking about!
